An amalgam of Chinese and Central Asian motifs combine to create a tightly composed visual composition in this Gansu rug. As is the case in most rugs from East Turkestan, a subdued color palette, combined with a focus on pleasing visual symmetry, make this piece a decorator's delight. 

  • Condition - Very good. All original. Medium to high pile all around. 
  • Size - 6'3" x 4'3"
  • Age - 19th century
  • Technical information - Wool pile. Cotton warp and cotton weft. Asymmetrically knotted.
