Early Morrocan rugs are directly inspired by Anatolian antecedents. In this piece, a rare double niche field is enclosed by a spaciously rendered tulip and rosette border most commonly seen in Ladik prayer rugs of West Anatolia. The piece contains what looks to be a date.

  • Condition - Somewhat challenged. Almost all original with a few tiny repairs. Heavily worn in areas.

  • Size - 5'9" x 2'11"

  • Age - Circa 1800

  • Technical information - Wool pile. Wool warp and wool weft. Symmetrically knotted.
