The reign of Shah Abbas, during which the capital was moved from Qazvin to Isfahan, saw production of the present genre of rugs flourish.  The ubiquitous floral composition of 17th century Isfahan rugs is even named after Shah Abbas.

  • Condition - Commensurate with age. Complete except for fraying at the edges. Some small repairs. Worn but beautiful.

  • Technical information - Wool pile. Cotton warp and cotton weft. Asymmetrically knotted.
